MeerKAT Pulsar Timing Array (MPTA) First Data Release

This dataset accompanies the publication of the paper “The MeerKAT Pulsar Timing Array: First Data Release” in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Contained in this dataset are:

  • Sub-banded arrival times, measured at 16 frequencies across the MeerKAT L-band receiver.
  • The pulsar archives produced by the data processing pipeline that have been used for this data release in PSRFITS file format.
  • The ephemerides of the pulsars, including indicative noise models in a TEMPO2 readable format.
  • Templates used for measuring the corresponding arrival times. We include both the one-dimensional “standards”, and the frequency resolved portraits that were constructed for more accurate timing.
  • Scripts that were used to construct the data release, or mimic the processes that were performed. (Developed by M. J. Keith at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics).

The data included ranges from February 2019 to October 2021, and the data of each pulsar includes at least 30 observations.
